About Me
Hi! My name is Gemma. My journey into massage began following my own injury whilst training to be a dancer at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance. Unfortunately due to incorrect treatment I had to leave my degree, and that is where my passion to learn about the human body began. I didn’t want anyone else to miss out like i did.
I have since become a fully qualified massage Therapist, qualified member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists, and fully insured to practise.
I have completed my CIBTAC Diploma in both Anatomy and Physiology and Swedish Body Massage. I went on to complete qualifications with VTCT in Sports Massage and Anatomy and Physiology and that training continues still as I work to complete the next level.
I have spent the last year following the completion of my training working in a local NHS hospital within the Therapy services team, supporting Physiotherapists and Occupational therapists in treating people following injury, illness, and surgery.
I am so excited to meet you and begin my journey as your therapist!
Sports Massage and Rehabilitation.
Your sessions will be made for you.
I will spend some time gathering information during your initial consultation, I will listen to your expectations, goals and story. We will discuss any current problems plus any previous injuries or illness and how they impact you so I can provide a whole person approach.
We will do some movements so I can see whats working or not working for you and have a look at your Range of Movement, then it’s treatment time.
Following on from your consultation, each session will aim to progress you to the next level and work towards achieving your goal(s). In these sessions I will reassess your movement and progress before we do your massage treatment. Rehabilitation exercises will be sent to you after the session via email.

Swedish Massage.
One of my primary goals in delivering a Swedish massage will be to relax your whole body and mind.
This is achieved by rubbing the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. Swedish massage goes beyond relaxation and has a wonderful effect on the body by increasing levels of oxygen within the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation, and easing tension.
Your session will include a short consultation where we can discover your expectations from the massage and I can customise the treatment just for you.
